E-Flite CX2 Helicopter Review
Red, that’s the color of Eflite CX 2, the new coaxial revamped
successor of Elite’s yellow CX. Just like its predecessor this helicopter is an extremely easy to fly model, well
suited for beginners. Its size and short TX antenna makes it convenient to fly indoors even in a small
room.
Unlike the CX it has a new internal2.4 GHz Spectrum transmitter,
receiver and canopy. The 5 channel transmitter for this version is better than the CX’s because one, itenables you
to fly almost anywhere you want without you having to worry about interference, two, you do not have to
bother with selecting channels or tuning and three, it does not burn out easily like the
CX.
For the E flite CX2 hovering is almost effortless because the rotor
blades share a common axis with counter rotation. The drift factor has been diminished to a great extent and the
tail response has been enhanced due to the modifications in the four in one control.
Eight AA batteries were required for the CX whereas the radio in the
CX2 needs only four AA batteries, immediately saving costs. The other components such as the body, the blades are
identical, so you can use the same parts for either. The only shortcoming of this helicopter is that the battery
connector could have been made a tad longer to facilitate better connectivity.
The CX2 has a rotor length of 345 mm and weighs 212g with the battery .The
average length of flight is ten to fifteen minutes.
The best part is that it comes preassembled in the kit, therefore all you have to do is unpack the
kit and you’re good to go. Though the price is a little higher (about $199) than other helicopters in its
category, its great new look and performance makes it a good buy.
